The Fokker D.V was one of the first biplane fighter planes of the German Air Force and k.u.k. Aviation Troops in World War I. The aircraft was powered by a 100hp Oberursel U.I rotary engine partially covered by a rounded propeller cowl. The Fokker D.V had a conventional V-V-Landing gear and no wheel at the rear but a tail skid. The aircraft was armed with one to two machine guns.
The Fokker D.V was very light, very easy to control and manoeuvrable, and only needed a 15-20 m long runway for take-off.
The RC Fokker D.V is based very closely on the original. The RC plane has been reproduced in great detail and also has a combustion engine that is covered by a rounded hood. The RC Fokker D.V is just as manoeuvrable and easy to control as the original and only needs a very short runway to take off. After about 10 m the plane takes off. The RC Fokker D.V flies several laps over the airfield and shows very good-natured flight characteristics. The flight image is as detailed as the original.
