The Pilatus PC-6 is a single-engine STOL aircraft produced by the Swiss manufacturer Pilatus Aircraft.
STOL means "Short Take-Off and Landing" - It describes the ability of an aircraft to take off and land over very short distances.
As a result, the Pilatus PC-6 can be used on almost any airfield and also in difficult terrain, on meadows, fields or areas with short take-off and landing strips.
The aircraft is therefore used primarily for special tasks: as an ambulance in disaster operations, for dropping supplies, as a survey aircraft and for dropping parachutists. As an alternative to the wheeled chassis, skids or floats can also be installed.
The RC airplane Pilatus PC-6 is a detailed model airplane that is closely based on the original.
An electric motor is installed for the drive. The RC flight model also needs little run-up to start and takes off quickly. The RC plane flies several laps over the airfield and also makes a low flight. The RC Pilatus PC-6 has the same flight behavior as the original. The RC model can fly very slowly without getting into a critical attitude. After a successful flight, the RC Pilatus PC-6 turns to land and comes to a standstill after a short roll.
