My 15th addition to my aircraft fleet is a Helicopter, the C186, based on a German (1970 - present) Messerschmitt BO-105. The real copter is an aerobatic flyer but this model is more stable like a drone. It flies with optical flow to help stabilise it (CORRECTION: this version does not have optical flow, hence the sticker), yet still it needs some inputs, probably due to the updraft it creates. There is a fair amount of air movement in my confined front room. I have flown drones that are more stable.

Had good fun though. 1st flight was a success although short. After that whilst trimming I managed to hit my settee a couple of times. I tried it outside briefly but it was too windy with 16mph gusts.

This is a flybarless machine meaning it does not have a flybar for stability as this would be unsightly in a scale model. This is an addition rotor style bar under the main rotot used for stability. Instead this machine does it electronically with gyros etc.

Music is Invasion by Eat Static.
