This engine is in near new condition and has excellent compression and overall fits. It was made in Brno in small batches over many years up until the late 1990's by renowned Czech model engineer and engine designer Josef Pfeffer.

While of typical immediate post-war "piston port with rear intake" design, the striking "square" cooling fins and triangular radial mount with built-in stand-off make it distinctive and immediately recognisable.

The earliest examples did not have the cast in exhaust manifolds. The heads and prop. drivers were anodised in a variety of colours including a greyish light blue, dark blue, mauve and red.

The Pfeffer engines were largely hand made with lots of individual attention. Where it matters finish and fits are of a very high order. If properly cared for these charming little engines will start easily and run steadily.

Fuel Composition:

Equal parts kerosene, di-ethyl ether and castor oil plus 1.5% 2-ethyl hexyl nitrate.
