In this video I show you how to build a nice little Royal Air Force Tornado GR.1 in the famous "Mig Eater" livery in 1/144 scale. The original plane took part in Operation Granby during the First Gulf War in 1990/1991 and was stationed at Tabuk Airbase, Saudi Arabia.

I recently found a cheap Academy Tornado kit in my stash, and when I opened it I saw it actually included the "Mig Eater" decals and not the regular RAF decals shown on the box. This was a nice surprise, and since I already built a 1/72 scale version of "Mig Eater" I immediately decided to buy another kit and build a small 1/144 version of it. I ordered the Revell 1/144 Tornado ECR which at currently 4.99 Euros is a real bargain! Of course I’d rather wanted a genuine GR.1 kit but in order to keep the costs down I went for this kit. I know that some parts and details are not accurate to the GR.1 variant so please bear with me. The build was basically just intended to be another small tribute to the crews and planes that flew extremely dangerous missions in the Gulf War thirty years ago.

Let me know what you think of this build. Your comments and opinions are highly appreciated. Please bear in mind I am not a professional modeler, I just build these models for fun and relaxation and to help regain my mental and physical health.
