Superb flight demonstration by the Russian Knights performed at Zhukovskiy (Moscow, Russia) during the MAKS airshow!

Now they fly with Su-35s but on this video they were still sporting the gorgeous Su-30SM which also features thrust vectoring, plus a tandem cockpit and canards, adding to the badass looks! :)

The flight display included 4-ship formation, 2-ship maneuvers and solo flight display, all the while pulling crazy stunts subject to quite a few Gs, hence the 'Dancing in Overload' title. I've mixed it all up to make it even more dynamic and interesting, hopy you love the video!

Here are some other pretty cool videos of the team:

The Russian Knights (Русские Витязи, Russkiye Vityazi, in russian) is an aerobatic demonstration team of the Russian Air Force. Originally formed on April 5, 1991 at the Kubinka Air Base as a team of six Sukhoi Su-27s, the team was the first to perform outside the Soviet Union in September 1991 when they toured the United Kingdom. The SU-27s were replaced with six Su-30M2s later on, and recently the whole team migrated again to the SU-30SM multirole fighter featuring canards, thrust vectoring and dual cockpits. Nowadays the team performs with SU-35S single seat fighter jets.

In this sense they became the second aerobatic team in the world to use thrust vectoring jets (first were the Russian Falcons that performed with the same Su-30SM aircraft as soon as 2015 and later replaced them by the SU-35S). It is noteworthy as well that apart from traditional formation flight exhibition, the team has introduced post-stall maneuvers that take advantage of the thrust vectoring nozzles into the solo and duo display sections of their show.

The team operates from the Kubinka air force base, west of moscow, in conjunction with the 'Strizhi' (Swifts) aerobatic team that still use MiG-29 fighter aircraft. From time to time it is possible to see both teams performing together.
