Took detailed measurements of the steering angles and rate of ackermann on my Tamiya TB04 to understand why it had good steering while flowing thru a corner versus my Xray T4 which had less steering and felt the car was stopping mid corner.

The TB04 has good steering geometry and rate of ackermann increased exponentially towards full steering lock. Seems its ackermann is well suited to our track layout. For sweepers less ackermann and for tight corners more ackermann to ensure the inner and outer tires are not fighting each other and causing tire scrub and lose speed in the corners.

My steering setup in the Xray is all wrong, left and right were not symmetrical and the ackermann rate was not consistent. Will need to work on this.
