Sometimes less is more. Flying EDF jets with retracts and flaps can add to much complexity...and it's just not worth the effort and expense. In this series I am exploring using a much cheaper hand launchable EDF jet for FPV formation flying. In this first episode I fly the Su-27 which Finn wears the goggles because I found out that the DJI FPV system will not go to full power unless it sees the arming signal from a flight controller it is connected to. In this episode I am just powering the FC directly from the flight battery. I have a couple of small flight controllers on order and next time will have it setup with iNav so get full telemetry and the ability to get full power FPV so can do some longer range flying.
