Wow, I almost ran out of rc content in my channel. Good thing I came up with an idea to compare a heli to a quadcopter. Rc helis are loosing its shine overtime in my opinion because of quadcopter which overtook the helis in popularity and ease of use. Nowadays, quads are equipped with altitude hold, gps, compass, hd camera and some intelligent flight modes. These are the few reasons why quads are getting popular now. However, helicopters are more challenging than quads. And in my opinion, it is more fun to fly because it requires days, weeks, months of practice before you can fly it in almost professional fashion. No gps no altitude hold no compass. But now I see some rc helis which are starting to be equipped with altitude hold and gps. In my opinion, those features defeats the very purpose of rc helicopters. Based from my observation, what makes rc helis more challenging is because its all mechanical- there's plenty of moving parts involved in a flight of a rc helicopters. Servos are very essential in rc heli unlike in quads which flies with the integration of flight controller only.
