Dynam has created a faithful scale flying RC model of the most famous of seaplanes: the PBY Catalina. Join pilot Jens Aarnaes and I for some scale-like flying on a Sunday morning at Bingham Lake. Jens has created a Norwegian version of the PBY to honor his father who participated in the design of a Norwegian flying boat. Watch as Jens executes a series of very smooth takeoffs, scale-like flying around the lake and a couple of landings to some of of Glenn Miller's Army Air Force Band's greatest hits. Also note that he has programmed the PBY to use differential thrust to aid in taxiing the plane at slow speeds. This is one fun aircraft to fly and beautiful to watch!
