I used to consider 2-channel RC airplanes toys for kids, not tools for RC hobbyists to practice their skills on, or for them to have fun with in the local park. However, after recently experiencing the stability and high fun and coolness factors of two 2-channel airplanes (Flybear FX-820 SU-35 and QF-002 baby), my opinions changed dramatically:

What I experienced with these two airplanes came as a total surprise to me. Thanks to their gyro stabilization, they do great even in moderate winds. I had great fun with these small aircraft and started to consider them inexpensive, simple, but legit entries to RC airplanes, especially for people on limited budget and unsure of their initial interest level in this hobby.

Which brings us to the subject of this video, the C-17 Transport Aircraft 2-channel airplane. I purchased this airplane from Banggood for $22.65 plus about $2 for shipping and insurance, which I think is a tremendous deal. Although the package claims that this airplane is RTF (ready-to-fly), it is in fact what I would call an ARF (almost-ready-to-fly) model with all the electronics and hardware included in the box. It requires about one hour of assembly and gluing. I used hot glue to make the build quicker, but if you decide using another type of foam-safe glue, expect to spend significantly more than one hour due to the longer curing times of other types of glue (except foam-safe CA, or cyanoacrylate, glue).

In this first video, I am showing its unboxing and assembly, and I am also sharing my initial observations and thoughts. In the next episode, I will be presenting its maiden flight, so please stay tuned.
