These viral drone shows are a lot cheaper to make, than I thought.

So chances are you've seen these drones online, but not in real life. That's because even though they are flying ads, they are designed to go viral. When companies pay to put on a drone show, they are thinking about the people posting videos about the show. Not the people that watch it in real life.

But how much do they pay?

So the most important thing is the number of drones. This show had about 400 drones, but the world record is about 3,000. And each drone makes it harder for engineers to coordinate. Typically you'll pay $300 to $500 per drone per show.
