Another beautiful Kmart toy glider conversion to RC airplane
I was so pleased with my first $3 Kmart small toy glider conversion to RC airplane, that I have built another two. First one was rudder and elevator controlled and another two are ailerons and elevator controlled. They are my learning to fly planes instead of simulator.
Second version with ailerons is more agile and manoeuvrable, capable of basic aerobatics. They aerodynamic is surprisingly good for cheap toy glider. They are pretty stable even in light wind 5 km/h. Flight can easily last 15 min on 1S 300 mAh battery and it is only half discharged. Plane take off weight is 60 grams. Video is recorded by GoPro 9 camera on my hat. I muted parts of the video because of annoying background noise. They were first flights so I flew pretty high to avoid nasty surprises.
