WLToys A959 vs WLToys A959-B: In-Depth Comparison! High-Speed RC Cars from Banggood!

In-Depth Comparison and Review of the WLToys A959 (45 kph) standard edition and the faster and upgraded WLToys A959-B (70 kph)! What are the differences, what do you get and which one to choose?

The WLtoys A959, also known as the Vortex, Storm CC, Magma and Brave Pro from WLtoys and 2fast2fun, is an 1/18th scale shaft-driven 4WD buggy. The same platform is also available in Monster Truck, Short Course Truck and Desert Trucks editions. The buggy edition is also available in different versions and among these the best known are the A959 and A959B.

It is essentially the same buggy, but the A959-B has a larger motor and comes with a larger capacity battery and some upgrades (see the video for details). The A959-B is specified to 70 km/h (43 mph) and the A959 to 45 km/h (28 mph).

One important note: This particular A959 comes with a metal main drive shaft, just like the A959-B! I have another and older A959 with a plastic main shaft, so it's good to see they've upgraded that one even on the standard version. I suspect though, that the gears and diffs on the A959 are still plastic, while the A959-B's are metal. But in a later episode, we will open the diff houses up and see for ourselves. For now, this is a quick "brand-new-and-just-out-of-box"-view of all the differences and similarities. Hope you enjoy!
