This is the B-version of the WLToys A959 which, instead of a 380 motor like on the A959-A, comes stock with a 540 motor. Quite a giant motor for a 1/18th (694 g) buggy! While WLToys claim it can hit a speed of 70 km/h (approx. 43 mph) I have seen a little more conservative speed test run measurements. But still, this little one really need not reach 70 km/h to feel fast.

Ever since I saw the WLToys Magma Buggy and Vortex Buggy some time ago, I have wanted to try out one of these. So I was naturally quite excited when RCmoments offered to send me one of the latest models in the series, free for review.

While I'm still a bit too old fashion to really like the 2-in-1 ESC/Receivers I must say I am pretty impressed with the aluminium parts, the metal drive shafts (dog bones) and the overall design of the buggy and the body. It simply pleases my eyes. Again, the friction shocks (really not shocks but just springs) leaves me unimpressed, but still, this is a buggy that goes 70 km/h in the price range of 70-80 £/$. That is quite impressive. 1 $ per km/h seems fair enough. I suspect the speed will end up costing some new spare parts, but if one has enough space to run it in, I think it will be quite a fun run!

It was certainly fun skating around on the frost today and I'm looking forward testing it and running it with full speed as soon as the weather and cold clears up a bit. Here you can find the specifications.
