These are two Radio Controlled VS tanks, an American Abrams M1A2 and the Russian T-72 M1 which are both from the modern era. VS tank also make a World War II series of tanks. VS Tanks in 1/24 scale are available in two different types: the R Series (Infra red) and A series (Airsoft which fires plastic pellets). The Infra Red tanks fire an infra red beam up to 20 metres and if they score a hit on an opponents tank, that tank will respond as if it has been hit by shaking and giving off a simulated explosion via flashing lights as per the video. Once a tank has been hit six times it ceases operation and has to be reset. The still functional tank is the victor. The detail work on the tanks is incredible. They are available in a choice of color schemes close to the original tanks. For example the Abrams comes in a choice of the Desert color scheme, NTC color scheme or NATO 3 color scheme. (The 'pattern' on the NATO 3 color Abrams is somewhat incorrect but others are quite true to the original paint schemes). The Russian T-72 comes in Olive Green, Desert color, Winter Camouflage or Russian Service Camouflage. There was a Collectors edition - more for display purposes, and a S (Sparkling Series) which gave off a brilliant muzzle flash when the main gun was fired. However these two series of VS Tanks appear to have been discontinued. It is a shame they dropped the Sparkling series because they really did look great while firing.
