Hot Wheels Toyota Trueno

I really did not anticipate that after the build, the car was going to drift. I was amazed at how will it was able to do donuts. I thought about applying some liquid tape to the plastic wheels to make them have more traction, but I love how I kept it plastic in order to drift.

There are still a lot of improvements to made. It's not perfect by any means, but this build was a little better than the previous. There were more space inside to pack all the electronics and the wheel base were a little wider.

I went with a rotating servo instead of the linear one that I had in the previous video and it made a world of difference. It's a lot more smoother and quieter. Only thing is it only turns to a max and min of +45 to -45 degrees. I would love to have the turn radius be a little tighter, but this will work for now.

The 3D printed base was slightly modified from the previous build. I think most of the Hot Wheels diecast cars have just about the same dimension from center of front wheel to center of back wheels. Only the wheel base length various just a little. I forgot to design the pockets for the on/off switch and the charger connector so I had to cut it out by hand. It was not pretty. Will definitely have to integrate that into the design on the next project.

One thing to note is, my soldering iron sucks. It was $10 from Walmart. I thought I could get away with that cheap one, but I realized how cheap it was when the tip started breaking off due to it being on for a while. Towards the end, I was afraid I might fried the receiver with the iron because it was in such bad shape, I couldn't tell where the drop of solder was.
