A quick and easy way of touching up a Vintage Tamiya Second Hand RC Car? ... or just a bad & lazy way? Here's the final results and a comparison of my two Tamiya DT-01 Buggies ... The Tamiya Fighter Buggy RX and Tamiya Mad Bull (custom 'Grasshopper III').

To be honest, I had forgotten all about this footage. The first tiny test run has been up for months: https://youtu.be/UlOxh-QTI0g

Disclaimer 1: I still have trouble with my Adobe editing software and the new HEVC video format. Just not a good combo, no matter the resolution, and I haven't found a solution. It just doesn't render all the footage smoothly, as can be seen in this video. I have started shooting in the old format again, and I hope this was the last HEVC-left-over-footage I could find ...

Disclaimer 2: For a full restoration of a second hand vintage Tamiya RC Car that has been run, you would of course need to disassemble/re-assemble the chassis and sand down, paint and apply new decals to the body. This way shown here is just my personal way, when I have to balance the spare time I have available and the rc car hobby projects I would like to see done ... So sometimes I prefer a quicker way to get a buggy to the minimum shape that I want to see it in before actually running it and being able to enjoy it.

The Tamiya Fighter Buggy RX from 1996 (released as an RTR model in 1991 under the name Rookie Rabbit) is the first buggy based on the DT-01 chassis and the first buggy of the complete DT-Buggy series that includes the DT-02 and DT-03 chassis.

The DT-01 chassis is in the itself the direct successor of the 1984 Grasshopper/Hornet chassis and 1988 Grasshopper II/Super Hornet chassis and indeed the Last of the 'Hoppers', with the characteristic gear box and suspension set-up.
