This is video of my Midwest Extra 300 and its first flight back in 2004. Location is the Screaming Eagles R/C Club field in Plainfield, Indiana. This is the original kit with the flat tail feathers. Its powered by a Super Tiger 3000 engine and Slimline Muffler. Radio system is a Futaba PCM with HiTec servos throughout. The "Airborne Express" trim scheme was my own design. I thought it would make a cool looking plane. I obtained the original logos and permission to use them from Airborne Express. For Father's Day, I asked for a professional photo of the model and my kids to be taken so I could submit it to RC Modeler magazine. They called a couple of weeks later and said they wanted it for their COVER! So, that was one of the coolest hobby experiences I've had. It was wild to walk into the hobby shop and Barnes and Noble and see my plane and my kids in the magazine rack staring back at me! I've been happy with the plane itself, but these big ones are hard to transport IMO. So, it doesn't go to the field often. The quality of the kit was excellent as usual for Midwest. Shame they are not making them anymore.
