The F-104 Starfighter as a design really shouldn't fly as well as it does as a model. Crazy enough, the giant scale F-104s fly incredibly well and look real in the air to boot. The key I think is wing loading as the large airframes are so light relative to the size. As a model, they've been popping up quite a bit at the scale events the last few years and they never fail to impress. This one, flown by Rod Snyder, was one of a couple F-104s out at Top Gun last year.
