Remote-controlled (RC) cars are very popular hobbies for many. While there is a tendency to think of an RC car as something for a child, the reality is that there are just as many adults who indulge in collecting these cars, and even racing them in various competitions. The cars are powered by several different sources and continually change based on newer technology. The toy-grade models are less expensive and are probably the ones with which most people are familiar—except collectors who are familiar with the hobby models and have the money to invest in these more expensive models.
Every kid grows up with the aspiration to some day own a cool car. Whether they want to drag race down the boulevard in their very own Corvette, or climb rocks the size of sedans in a Wrangler, or drift perfect figure eights in the high school parking lot in their turbo Supra, we all get bit by the bug, and we all dream big.
RC cars are great, because those little bits of plastic and pieces of metal enable us to live out our wildest fantasies, because let’s face it: The majority of Wranglers don’t climb rocks, most Corvettes don’t get raced down the boulevard, and if you own a Supra, you probably spend more time polishing its paint than you do drifting it around.
While some RC cars are mere novelties, there are some companies out there who really put painstaking amounts of effort into making their pint-sized replicas as close to the real deal as possible. Or, at the very least, making them fun as hell.
